What we do

Forests and climate change are inextricably linked. Forests are either carbon 'sinks' or carbon 'reservoirs', depending on their age and they play an integral role in regulating our climate. The creation of new woodlands is essential in the fight to reverse global warming.

Forest Carbon brings together expertise in forestry and carbon emissions legislation to act as an advisor and facilitator – finding projects that are a match for the buyer’s requirements in terms of location, size, species, land use, forest management and volume of carbon dioxide to be off-set. Buyers receive, in return for their investment, the knowledge that they have created a genuinely additional planting – woodland that would not have come about without their contribution.

For landowners Forest Carbon offers an opportunity to create new environmental benefits. Many new non-commercial native woodlands projects stall because, even with Forestry Commission grant aid, they are economically unviable. Forest Carbon funding offers such projects a chance to break even.

Forest Carbon projects meet the higest standards and carbon calculations are transparent, conservative and simple.
