M & S at Queensberry
The Marks & Spencer project at Queensberry will sequester in excess of 3,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide over its growing period of approximately 60 years. At the end of this period it will reach a steady state of carbon storage and move from being a carbon sink to become a carbon reservoir. The planting at the site equates to an average of one tree planted for every 12 home deliveries made by Marks & Spencer.
Forest Carbon's carbon calculation methodology can be seen elsewhere on this site.
The Queensberry Estate is situated just off the A76, 17 miles from Dumfries. Drumlanrig Castle (part of the estate) is also signposted from the A74M at Abington and Elvanfoot. The nearest major cities are Glasgow, Edinburgh and Carlisle. Click here for a map.
